High Tunnel Strawberries and Organic Honey Products

We offer a wide range of products each year.  Begining in the summer of 2013, we offer high tunnel greenhouse grown strawberries and strawberry preserves.  We also are offering delicious honey and other products straight from our own bee yard.  As always, we have plenty of hay to sale year after year.  Be sure to contact us for any more information and/or orders for the products below.  We appreciate your business!

HAY!  Round and Square Bales

 

Once we gather enough hay to feed our cattle over the winter months, we sale the rest.  We offer 4x5 (4ft wide x 5ft tall) round rolls and standard sized square bales.  The price per bale varies with the availability of hay each season.  ALL hay is cheaper if buyers pick it up out of the field.  Everything is first come, first serve.  So, be sure to set up pickup times and quantities ahead of time! 

 

Buyers can also pickup hay anytime from the farm or have it delivered (within a reasonable distance) for an extra fee. 

 

*Unloading points for deliveries must be able to accommodate a 24ft gooseneck trailer.

Our strawberries were planted in the spring of 2013 and began to produce by early June.  We picked almost a dozen quarts per week during the month of June.  Not bad for such a young crop!

Pure Hances Creek Honey

Our apiary (bee yard) has been in operation for 4 summers now.  We have grown from 2 hives to 9!  Our bees produced some of the smoothest and most delicious honey that anyone here on the farm has ever tasted.....and to think that it was all created from all of the clover, honeysuckle, and other wild flowers from the surrounding area!  We couldn't believe that we have been missing such a wonderful natural sweetener all of these years.

 

Our Honey is Organic!

 

At NO point are our bees exposed to any sort of pest/disease control hive treatments.  Our philosophy is that weak bees need to be replaced by healthy bees.  When we have a weak hive we try to combine it with a stronger, more rigorous hive.

 

Whipped Honey

 

What's whipped honey?  Also known as spun or creamed honey is simply a more spreadable version of honey.  As honey cools below room temperature the natural sugars inside begin to crystallize. The whipped honey process is simply controlling that crystallization using a precise amount of time that the honey is exposed to a precise temperature.  The end result is wonderful spreadable honey!
